The end is nigh.
Due to all members of the band thoroughly despising each other, we have decided to play one last gig as Drive There Now and then call it a day. The gig will take place on Friday 4th May at Manchester Academy 2. We will be playing with our good friends The Rainband and it will be a sad day but it might well be the best gig we've ever played.
By the way we don't really hate each other, we're all good friends, but other commitments have meant that we can't continue. We'd like to thank every single person who ever came to watch us and has supported our music! We wish we could continue to write and play music together!
We really hope that the gig will be a great send off and we want everyone to be there! Full details are to follow.

GIG - Soup Kitchen, Northern Q, MCR, 28th Sep
We'll be joining a host of other bands on Wednesday 28th September to play at Soup Kitchen in the Northern Quarter in Manchester. Doors are 7.30pm and we'll be on stage around 10.15pm. Tickets are available on the door for this one for only £4. It might be an opportunity for us to air some new stuff, so for those of you who've got nothing to do this coming Wednesday, you know where to find us.

Live on AllFM (96.9)
This evening, around 6pm, we will be perfoming some acoustic tracks live on AllFM's drivetime show. You can tune in using your old fashioned wireless or listen online here.
Now playing 'Glaston-Bury' gig in Bury
That's right, Drive There Now are playing Glaston-Bury. Only it's not the world famous festival that attracts in excess of 150,000 people (sigh), it's Bury's own take and it's expected to attract more than 150 people! Regardless, we're taking part as it's for a good cause (raising money for Bury Hospice) and we've played it the last two years it's been staged and it was great to play to a Bury crowd! We're on the main stage (Elizabethan Suite) at 1.00pm, tickets are only £5 and that gets you in to all the Glaston-Bury venues all day. It's on the 29th August, the bank holiday Monday - hopefully we'll see you there.
Our team of designers (yes we do have a team of designers...) put this poster together - you've got no excuse for turning up at the wrong time!

'The Light' now on Soundcloud
'The Light' is one of Drive There Now's originals. We've been playing it live since the very start, for a long time we opened the show with it and now we tend to close the show with it. We recorded this version at Blueprint Studios in Salford, some of you may have heard of it, it's where Elbow recorded 'Seldom Seen Kid' and their latest album. It was a great honour for us to be recording there and being in that studio for five days was pure joy. Anyway, that was late in 2010 and we thought it would be nice it was available to you on Soundcloud as well - which it now is! You can listen to it on the left of this page as usual.
We really hope you enjoy listening to it and it may be you've already heard it on the EP or maybe you're listening to it for the first time, but please let us know what you think of it, we really appreciate your feedback. Unreleased demos
We've been recording quite a lot in the past six months, slowly releasing some material as we go, however, we've kept a lot of it to ourselves. We now think it's time for you to hear what we've been up to.
We released a demo of 'Eighteen 18' to Soundcloud yesterday (you can listen to it on the left of this page) and over the coming months we'll be putting out more unheard demos and acoustic versions, all of which will be available to listen to on this site.
Hopefully you'll enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed recording them and hopefully you'll tell all of your friends about Drive There Now. If you've not already, then don't forget to sign up to our mailing list to keep updated as well as check out the blog, which will be full of entertaining goodies. More to come...
Welcome to the new site!
If you've never heard of Drive There Now before and this is your first visit then this site won't appear very new, but for those who've been on before you can see this is a massive update.
You can now join up to the mailing list from any page and we have a brand spanking new blog to keep you entertained in between gigs. We're gonna be going gig heavy in the next few months, so there will definitely be an opportunity for you to come and see us live.
We're gonna be updating this site as much as possible and especially the blog to keep you up to date so keep checking back as we'll be adding new songs and demos as we go. Thanks for looking and we hope to see you at a gig sometime soon and in the mean time make sure you sign up to our mailing list.
